What an adaptogen actually is

Adaptogen is a category name for plants that have traditionally been used to help the body cope with stress. The ones you will see most on these shelves are ashwagandha, rhodiola, holy basil and schisandra, often alongside L-theanine, the amino acid in green tea, or GABA.

None of them are intoxicating.

How to use it

There is no dose to time here. Adaptogens are traditionally taken regularly rather than as a one-off, which is why people who get on with them tend to buy a case rather than a can.
